Last week, we had the privilege of joining Playeum at their special fundraising performance of The Emperor’s New Clothes — Wild Rice’s celebrated musical that blends outrageous humour, unforgettable songs, and a distinctly local flair. Directed by Pam Oei, with script by Joel Tan and music by Julian Wong, the production was a vibrant celebration of creativity and imagination.
Yet beyond the bright costumes and joyful spectacle, the story carries a message that sits at the very heart of Playeum’s work:
The power of children’s voices.
The belief that courage, honesty, and imagination often come from the youngest among us — if we choose to listen.
A Mission We Deeply Connect With

Playeum’s mission to champion children’s agency, creativity, and voice resonates strongly with us. Their work reminds us that nurturing confidence and expression in every child can create ripple effects of positive change.
Being able to stand beside a team that champions such an important cause is an honour we do not take lightly.
A Small Contribution to a Big Purpose
As part of our support, ECE Rental sponsored a selection of items for the evening’s reception, including wine glasses used by guests before the show. It was a small gesture, but one we were grateful to offer — with the hope that it contributed, in some way, to the atmosphere and smooth running of the event.
We also visited the venue to capture a few photos and videos, to document a meaningful collaboration and the vibrant energy that filled the space.
Our role may have been modest, but being able to support Playeum’s mission through what we do best is something we truly value.
